The Battleship Blast event was again a success for the Big J. Over 1,000 people enjoyed a Surf n Turf BBQ, the Phillie Phanatic, Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels, IGX video games, WXTU's Christy Springfield, Sixers Dance Team members, the Philadelphia Flyers, face painting, tattoos, food and beverage concessions and bands: Primitive Soul, Hypersonic, 5 3 Woodland, and the Bobby Mansure Trio. And of course the best view of the fireworks over the Delaware River at dusk! We even ended the night with a bang with the firing of the 5-inch gun for the first time in nearly 20 years!
