67TH ANNIVESARY OF THE COMMISSIONING OF THE BATTLESHIP IS SUNDAY, MAY 23

DETAILS: Several former USS New Jersey crew members will be recognized, a memorial wreath will be casted into the Delaware River and guests attending the event can enjoy a piece of cake, as the Battleship New Jersey holds a ceremony in honor of the 67th Anniversary of the Commissioning of the Big. J.
Battleship Curator Jason Hall Capt. Walt Urban USN (ret) will host the ceremony, which will honor former crew members, including Walter Olkowski, a Battleship Plankowner, who will be recognized on behalf of the 55,000 officers and sailors who called the Big J their home. The event, which will take place on the Battleship’s forecastle (forward deck) under the legendary 16-inch guns, will be highlighted by the casting of a memorial wreath off the side of the ship into the Delaware River.
All guests attending the event are then invited to have a piece cake in honor of the anniversary.
The event is free to any guest touring the Battleship on Sunday.

The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial, located on the Camden Waterfront, offers guided and audio tours daily beginning at 9:30 am with the last tour of the day departing at 5 pm.
