BROAD STREET BULLY BOB “THE HOUND” KELLY TO FIRE
DATE:Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 am
DETAILS: Philadelphia Flyers Ambassador and former player Bob “The Hound” Kelly will launch the Flyers charge into the Stanley Cup Finals with the firing of the Battleship New Jersey’s “Good Luck
Gun,” a/k/a the portside 5-inch gun at 11 am on Saturday, May 29. Kelly will also be available to sign autographs and to give away free Flyers t-shirts, beads and signs to any guest touring the ship.
The Battleship has fired the “Good Luck Gun” before the start of each NHL Playoffs series for the Flyers. The Battleship hopes to continue the good luck following that of Kate Smith, the Flyers good luck charm, who also sang “God Bless America” aboard the USS New Jersey during her launching ceremony on December 7, 1942.
