Battleship Turns Red for National Wear Red for Women Day, Feb. 6
On Friday, February 6th, our nation’s most decorated and largest battleship turned her lights red to support American Heart Association’s Sixth Annual National Wear Red Day for Women. On this day, women throughout the country, as well as schools, corporations, businesses, hospitals, towns, local and state legislators, members of the media, teachers, and people from all walks of life will be wearing red to focus attention on the No. 1 killer of women – cardiovascular disease. According to the American Heart Association, a woman is ten times as likely to die from heart disease as from breast cancer.
