Dry Dock Guided Tours of the World’s Greatest Battleship begin this weekend on Saturday, April 6!
Guided tours of the ship while she is out of water will take place on Saturdays and Sundays in April and May, as long as the ship is in dry dock at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Tours will not be offered on Sunday, May 5, when the Naval Shipyard serves as the Finish Line for the annual Broad Street Run.
Our trained tour guides will take guests down into the dry dock, where you will be updated on the work being done on the ship, see the exposed hull and get a close-up look of four Iowa-class battleship propeller. The price is a $220 donation to experience a Dry Dock Guided Tour.
To have your tour led by Battleship Curator Ryan Szymanski, the Battleship is requesting a $1,000 donation.
The Dry Dock Guided Tours donations will help the Battleship pay for the $10million dry dock project as well as offset lost revenue while the ship is not opened for tours, groups, events and overnights this spring.
