Battleship New Jersey becomes the only Iowa-class museum to have a full battery of real missile tubes

Today, Battleship New Jersey became the only Iowa-class Battleship Museum to have a full battery of real missile tubes. A huge thank you to the crew and our incredible maintenance staff for making this possible! We’ve also added the replica SPQ9 fire control radar dome that was kindly donated to the museum from Infinite Technologies RCS.

In addition, we reattached the mast! Earlier this year when we removed the mast ahead of the ship’s dry docking, you may recall we found a 1999 New Jersey state quarter. That coin is now a part of our exhibits, but before we reattached the mast, we added several coins including pennies from years significant to the ship’s history as well as a dry dock challenge coin.
