CAMDEN WATERFRONT, N.J. — Philadelphia Union, in partnership with Boeing, Liberty USO and Battleship New Jersey will host the fourth annual edition of Battle of the Branches, a 5v5 mini-soccer tournament on the Pier of the Battleship New Jersey on Thursday, July 13, beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET.
The teams are made up by active-duty military, as well as retired, reserve, DOD civilians, and friends and family playing in honor or memory of military members in the Philadelphia-area. The winning team will receive complimentary tickets to the Union’s Military Appreciation Game on Saturday, July 15th against NYCFC.
The tournament will run approximately from 2pm to 5pm ET. Media is encouraged to come during the time of play and interviews with participants and Union personnel will be available. Media who would like to attend can RSVP with Allie Gentile at 856-308-2964.
Refreshments, prizes, music and even enjoy watching a tugboat from McAllister Towing retrieve soccer balls when they go into the Delaware River.
