Battleship New Jersey to Host First Annual Sporting Clay Invitational
CAMDEN, NJ — [June 18, 2025] — The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial is thrilled to announce its First Annual Sporting Clay Invitational, taking place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, aboard the historic Battleship New Jersey, docked on the Camden Waterfront. In a truly one-of-a-kind setting, twenty teams and 80 individual shooters will shoot biodegradable clay targets over the Delaware River, combining a high-adrenaline sporting experience with an unforgettable maritime venue.
This signature fundraising event will support the Battleship’s mission of preservation, education, and honoring veterans. Proceeds will go toward restoration projects, community programs, and keeping this national icon open and accessible to the public.
“We wanted to create something bold, memorable, and completely unique to the Battleship,” said Marshall Spevak, CEO of the Battleship New Jersey. “There’s nothing else like it in the country—shooting clays from the deck of a battleship while supporting a living piece of American history.”

The Coast Guard has established a temporary safety zone to ensure the safety of mariners on the Delaware River during the event. The safety zone includes all navigable waters within 800 feet of the Battleship NJ. A link to the official document is HERE.
